Arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, yesterday morning. Had a good trip from Budapest with some new friends on the train. Not that much time for sleeping, but that`s not necessary every night. I do start to realize that being a Swede gives you a lot of advantages while passing borders. I thought about that before I left Stockholm and now, on the border from Hungary to Serbia I understood how good it is sometimes. The border polices took some five minutes for checking american and serbian passports, but just some seconds for mine.
Yesterday I took another of those long walks through towns that I already like. I`ve been to Belgrade twice before and I`m in love with this town. The cafes, pubs, bars and clubs are always crowded and people seems to enjoy their life although there are some big problems in the country. I did spend some time in the bohemian quarters during the day, and later on I ended up in a jazz/blues-bar with live music. After a while I realized that part of the menu were in swedish. Of course I was surprised by this fact, but later I found out that the owner was from Sweden. Sometimes it`s hard to use the english language over here so it was quite nice to speak swedish instead. People from my country seems to be all over Europe. Milano, Venice, Budapest and now Belgrade...
Since a couple of years ago I`ve had a dream to see a football game with Red Star Belgrade and today this dream became trough. Crazy crowd, yes!
Still having a hard time with uploading photos and videos, the computers and the internet connection aren`t made for that in the places I stay. But I might some good place in the next town I visit, can you guess which one that is?
Talk about a dream. Try to make it real.
Love, love, love... Only love.

Time for a bath!
Hello Hungary, I'm back in Budapest again!
Left Venice after some very beautiful and relaxed days. Lot of walking around the "non tourist"-parts of this lovely town, and also a lot of cappuccinos. Stayed in Hotel Giovannina in a suburb called Mestre, and that's a hotel I could recommend, definitely. It's situated some ten minutes by train from the city centre, and therefore it's a bit cheaper then the rest of the town. Except of this fact they have a man called "Uncle Georges" who works in the reception at nighttime. And just this fact makes this hotel worth a visit. He was so friendly, inviting and funny, just made sure that I (and the other guests) had a very good time together!
My plan was to move on to Belgrad, but something happened. During a couple of minutes I was totally sure that I was going to follow three croatian girls to Zagreb, but then I decided to follow my instinct and head northeast, to Budapest! Been here twice before and I just love this city. So many interesting and beautiful things to see and do and just a good atmosphere all over. One of those things are the turkish baths, and in two minutes I'm on my way!
Sorry about that I haven't been uploading any pictures or movies during the last couple of days. I'ts just because I don't think that these computers would make it... But I'll do my best to find somewhere as soon as possible.
Keep up with the snow, I'm very jealous...
The future needs a big kiss!

Italia Italia!
Not that much time right now, I'll try to catch a train to Venice in one hour. Arrived in Milano yesterday and had a beatuiful day and night! The carneval in town, the sun was shining and the spring was in the air. And when the night was about to arrive I ended up att Guiseppe Meazza/San Siro for a very weird game of football. Inter-Sampdoria and the referee seemed to dislike Inter quite much. Two red cards in the first 35 minutes, but in some way they were able to defend themselves and the game ended without any goals scored.
Would have loved to stay here in Milano for a couple of days, but it's very expensive and I'm so looking forward to reach the eastern parts of Europe and the western parts of Asia. That's way I ain't spending that much time in each and every city I pass.
Will try to be back with something longer, and also a couple of pictures of the spring in Milano later. But until then: Keep up my friends! The spring might come to Sweden aswell, one day...
Big hug!

Things I'll tell my grand children, part 1
The sun is shining. The spring is actually in the air. Everything seems perfect, except of the fact that I got my first kind of stomach disease for this trip yesterday.
Had a long walk in town during a couple of hours yesterday, everything was close to perfect. A bit cold, but I found some interesting museums and spent some time inside to get warm again. Went back to the apartment and hooked up with Alexander when he got out of work. We went to see the harbour and then moved on to the old town for something to eat. Ended up with another falafel and then back to the apartment again for a beer or three.
After a while I realized I didn't feel very good so we decided to ask his friends to come over instead of going out. Drank a lot of water and things were about to be better, but then, suddenly, when I went out of the sofa it all came over me again... I didn't feel like the perfect guest, but that's the way it is sometimes. Nothing to do about it.
Today I feel perfectly well again, altough a bit confused about that the first stomach disease did hit me in Germany of all places. But well, just to get used to it. It won't be the last one.
Now I really think it's about time to get out in the sun!

Out of Scandinavia!
Hello!
After a beautiful night in Copenhagen (thank you Annastiina!) I'm now out of Scandinavia! I felt very excited while entering the ferry between Rödby and Puttgarden. It wasn't the first time on that ferry, but it's still the same excited feeling about it. Leaving Scandinavia and move on to the "continent"!

Ferry between Rödby and Puttgarden
Now in Dusseldorf in the west part of Germany, at the home om my Greenpeace-friend Alexander and I'm soon about to take a long walk in the old town over here. I really do love the feeling of walking around in "new" cities. I have actually no idea about things to do or see here, but Alexander promised to show me around for a while after work.

Alexander in the big sofa, also my bed
Not really sure about my next part of this trip, but I think I'll move on to Venice, maybe tomorrow or on saturday. Would have loved to stay longer both in Copenhagen and here in Dusseldorf, but on the other hand I wan't to get to warmer places as soon as possible. I think I'll meet the spring in Istanbul and then move on to the summer in Syria and Lebanon.
Nothing more right now, time for a walk in the town!
See you later my friends, love you all!

Last night in Sweden!
Tomorrow, at lunch, I'm getting this thing started for real. It wont be the longest train ride, but for sure one of the most important. Malmö-Copenhagen, and bye bye Sweden!

(I'm sorry about that you can't just click on the links. There seems to be some problems with that function on this blog. Do the classic "copy - paste" thin instead and you will find my videos. And I know I don't speak very "clear", I'll try to think about it the next time!)
There will probably be one night in Copenhagen. I've been promised some coffee and some dancind before I move on south to Düsseldorf in western Germany.
Good night my friends! You are beautiful!

I'm on the way!
I left Stockholm 18.12 two days ago, and now I'm back again!
I'll try to post some videos from my trip. It might be easier in the beginning of the trip so I really have to catch this moment!
Here's the first one, on the train from Stockholm to Kiruna:

After close to sixteen hours on the empty train I finally arrived to Kiruna:
http://www.youtube.com/user/KirunatoCape#p/a/u/1/C6F-WUpAwNg
When I arrived up there I was a bit confused, but after a shorter walk around the town I decided to try my hitchhiking skills. It was a bit hard to get close to the road, some ten metres of snow made it a bit complicated. But after half an hour of walking I got tired of it and just run through all the snow. A bit cold and wet after that, but I was finally standing along the road!
Two hours later, when about 30 cars had passed (they don't seem to like driving during the winter) I ended my first try. About 25 degrees below zero and 25 kilos of stuff on my back, the result of that was cold and tired. I gave it another try after a cup of coffee, but with the same result. Back to the train station and on the same train which brought me there.
A lot of tourists on the train back to Stockholm again, and I actually had quite a good time. In some way this small trip up north might seem like a big fail, but I don't think so. The whole thing about this journey is that I'm going to follow my own feelings and wishes, and that is exactly what I did.
Me and the train to Kiruna
The famous church
Back in Stockholm now for some hours, but very soon I'm off again! The train to Malmö will departure from the Central Station at 6 pm and I'll be at that train. The big Kiruna U-turn is made and now I'm going south!
See you later my friends! All my love to you!

Today is going to be the day!
Eight hours to go! There are still a lot of things to be done before I can walk out of the apartment and go north. The train is leaving at 18.12 from Stockholm Central Station and I'll arrive at Kiruna Station sometimes around 9 a.m. Due to the weather forecasts there might be some sun up there in the north to welcome me, and also some 17 degrees below zero.
A lot of things to be done now, but soon. Very soon...

I don't like being stationary
I'll try to do myst of the coming posts in english from now on. This is of my respect to the thousands and thousands of international readers that will try to follow my little journey. They are not here yet, byt they will come... I would also like to apologize for any coming spelling or grammar problems. I speak, and write, english quite fluently, but there are some mistakes sometimes.
Saturday morning in Stockholm and I want to get away, today! Have had a dinner with some relatives, one with some friends and tonight is the night of the big gooodbye-party! We'll have a beautiful night in Stockholm and you are all welcome to join us.
I have a feeling inside. I don't think that this feeling is very unique for people in my age, but still I do hvae to listen to this feeling. And that is why I'm leaving Stockholm in four days. I do feel that I need to search. I'm not really sure what I want to find, but this is a part of my life were I'll be looking, listening and learning. Hopefully a lot of laughing and loving aswell...
I've lived all my life in Stockholm and I'm very happy about that. I have most of my friends and relatives here, I know the streets, I know where to get some good vegetarian food and I know which is the cosiest bar. I do love this town, but I have actually nothing to compare it with. I´ve been travelling a lot the last years, but i´ve actually never lived anywhere else than Stockholm, it's about time for that now.
Apart from the "I'm not sure if I want to live in Stockholm for the rest of my life"-thing, I want some time to think of my future, as a human. Today I do have some ideas about what I want to do, but they are very changeable. I want to get to know myself for real and after that it might be easier to walk the ways I want to walk. Might.
Talk about a dream. Try to make it real.
Keep up my friends! I love you!
